Technical Project Manager

Job Description

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing client implementation projects and professional services engagements from initiation through completion. This role serves as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with client expectations.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills with a technical aptitude, enabling them to effectively coordinate implementation activities, collaborate with technical teams, and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management

    • Manage client implementation projects and professional services engagements from project kickoff through successful completion.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Coordinate project activities in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW) and ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule.
    • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, project documentation, and task trackers to monitor project progress.
    • Monitor project milestones, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.

    Technical Project Oversight

    • Partner with technical teams, including Product, Engineering, Solutions Engineering, and Client Services, to coordinate implementation activities and project deliverables.
    • Facilitate technical discovery sessions, requirements gathering, and solution review meetings.
    • Translate business requirements into actionable project tasks and coordinate execution across cross-functional teams.
    • Track technical dependencies, risks, issues, and blockers, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when necessary.
    • Support testing, validation, and deployment activities throughout the implementation lifecycle.

    Client & Stakeholder Communication

    • Facilitate project meetings with clients and internal stakeholders, including preparing agendas, documenting meeting notes, and tracking action items.
    • Provide regular project status updates to clients, leadership, and project stakeholders.
    • Communicate technical concepts, project risks, and implementation updates in a clear and professional manner.
    • Build strong client relationships and ensure a positive implementation experience.

    Project Execution & Financial Oversight

    • Track project hours, timelines, and resource utilization against project plans and budgets.
    • Monitor project scope and identify potential risks related to timelines, resources, or client requirements.
    • Escalate project concerns and scope changes as appropriate to ensure successful project delivery.
    • Ensure project documentation remains accurate, organized, and up to date throughout the engagement.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with Sales, Client Services, Product, Engineering, and Support teams to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Assist with project transitions from pre-sales through implementation and into ongoing support.
    • Coordinate internal resources and stakeholders to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.

    Process Improvement

    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
    • Identify opportunities to improve implementation processes, project visibility, and delivery efficiency.
    • Support the development and maintenance of project templates, documentation standards, and reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2–5 years of project management, implementation, software delivery, or related experience.
  • Experience managing client-facing projects in a SaaS, technology, software, or professional services environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience working with cross-functional technical and business teams.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools.
