There has been a lot going on at CharityEngine over the past few months, and I’m excited to share some of what’s new.
If you missed it, we recently launched CharityEngine Copilot, a voice-first AI fundraising partner built directly into CharityEngine. Copilot works alongside you to help with everything from drafting personalized fundraising emails and recommending next steps to building detailed fundraising reports.
And Copilot is learning new skills quickly. Its latest skill tackles one of the most common challenges fundraisers face: reporting.
New CharityEngine Copilot Skill: Report Builder
Available from CharityEngine reporting screens, Report Builder allows you to simply speak or type what you need and build a report with the right filters in seconds.
Not sure which filters to use? No problem. Tell Copilot the question you are trying to answer, and it will recommend and apply the appropriate filters for you.
Copilot also shows you its logic. You can see how it interpreted your request and translated it into reporting criteria, giving you the opportunity to review and refine the results as needed.
For those who are newer to CharityEngine, Report Builder removes much of the learning curve that can come with creating a complex report. But in my conversations with experienced CharityEngine users, I’m learning that the value goes beyond saving time.
Report Builder can also support discovery. Sometimes Copilot identifies a different way to answer the question behind a report, introducing users to filters or reporting approaches they may not have considered before.
So, what can you ask Copilot Report Builder? Virtually anything.
From the Contact Listing screen, you can ask Copilot to:
- Build a report of first-time donors from the past 30 days.
- Find high-probability prospects from our [Initiative Name] who are not currently sustainers.
- Show high-probability major gift prospects who are not assigned to a solicitor.
From the Transaction Listing screen, you can ask Copilot to:
- Show failed sustainer transactions from this month paid by credit card.
- Show recent gifts over $500 that have not been acknowledged.
- Find anonymous transactions associated with the Major Donor group.
And those are just two reporting screens. Imagine the possibilities.
Calendar View of Volunteer Opportunities
This next enhancement comes directly from feedback shared by our user community.
Volunteers can now view upcoming opportunities in a calendar format, making it easier to browse available shifts by date and quickly find opportunities that fit their schedules.
The calendar view is available through the CharityEngine donor portal, which gives supporters a central place to manage many of their interactions with your organization. Depending on how your organization configures the portal, supporters can:
- Sign up for volunteer opportunities
- Manage memberships
- View and manage event tickets
- Review past advocacy actions
The portal is customizable to your organization’s needs. Administrators can easily choose which functionality to display, giving supporters a more relevant and streamlined experience.
Event Quick Pledges
Pledge functionality is not new to CharityEngine, but recording pledges during a fast-paced event presents a unique challenge.
When supporters make commitments by raising a paddle, event organizers need a quick way to capture those pledges so they can track and follow up on them after the event.
With the new Event Quick Pledges functionality, organizers can record a pledge in seconds using only the supporter’s paddle number and pledge amount. The pledge is then automatically associated with the event.
This streamlined process makes it easier to capture commitments accurately and helps fundraisers avoid the post-event headache of manually matching pledges to attendees.
